Accrington Stanley [1891] Former League Clubs The Football League England
This category deals with Accrington Stanley (1891) Football Club. They played in The Football League from 1921 until 1962, when they became only the second club ever to resign from the Football League in mid-season. The club went into liquidation in 1966. They should not be confused with the later club of the same name, Accrington Stanley, nor with Accrington, who were one of the original twelve founder members of The Football League. There is no connection between the three clubs.
